Mona Scott-Young and K. Michelle are suing Memphitz!!!

SO... According to CentricTV.com,  Mona Scott-Young and K. Michelle are suing Memphitz!!!

Back in 2012, Mickey "Memphitz" Wright (of JIVE Records) had filed a lawsuit for defamation of character against the two. He said that his reputation had suffered "irreparable damage". On the reality show Love And Hip-Hop: Atlanta, Michelle had stated on multiple occasions that she had been abused by him. He wanted $1 for every person who saw the show!!! Yeah, that's right... lol. The show at the time was getting approximately 5 million views per week, says Centric TV. BUT, for SOME unknown reason he dropped the case. Hmmm... That's a little fishy to me...

Now K. Michelle and Mona Scott-Young have filed countersuits against Memphitz (Michelle's Ex) as a response to his past lawsuit. Centric TV stated that Memphitz is being accused of (allegedly) lying under oath about his past (alleged) domestic violence against Michelle and for filing a "frivolous lawsuit". They also want their legal bills to be paid by Memphitz.

Maybe this is just me, but if his reputation is so important to him, would he have admitted to the abuse if he had done it? It doesn't make sense to me that he would. As soon as he would have opened his mouth and told the truth, his reputation would have gone down the toilet. And why did he suddenly drop the case? This is what makes his story a bit fishy to me... Also, the fact that Michelle is pressing the issue makes me think that maybe there is some truth to it. When someone has been abused, it sticks with them and strongly affects their lives everyday. It's not as easy for a victim to just drop it... Because they are constantly being reminded.

If she was abused, I say GOOD FOR YOU GIRL!  Make him pay. Deciding how to handle this type of situation has to be INSANELY HARD! But I do realize that there are some low people out there who would make horribly SICK stories up to get back at their Ex.

So yeah, I guess I'm leaving this one to you guys... What are your thoughts on this???

Female Prisoners Being Sterilized In Prisons

I read this artical yesterday and it absolutely blew my mind! According to the article, in California, prisons have resorted to sterilizing women in order to save government money. They decided that this would be a better alternative to paying out welfare to mothers of unwanted children, or even children that would be raised in a life surounded with crime. Say What??? Is this even legal?  Well actually believe it or not, it is totally legal!!! There was a Supreme Court Case in 1927, Buck vs. Bell, where it was ruled that women can be FORCED to be sterilized in prison...  Legally prisons do currently have the right to force sterilization on their female inmates. Is this right? Or is it immoral?

Now, while the women in California weren't being "forced", they were being strongly persuaded. What that entails, we don't know. But, the State requires prisons to have approval before each individual case of prison sterilization to guarantee that it is justified... But in California they found a loop-hold! The prison signed off on the sterilizations because the doctor signed that it was a "medical emergency".

I personally believe this is a disgusting attempt at dehuminizing women in prison. It's just the first step towards it being mandatory in other situations as well. The fact that it's just women not men speaks VOLUMES. I'm curious as to the percentage of minority women in comparison to non-minorities who have been forced to be mutilated... oh! Excuse me! Strongly pursuaded!!! Yeah, right! I refuse to believe that an inmate wouldn't be punished in some way or form if she were to say no... there are many ways to punish a person, while not admitting it's punishment.

My point of view is based on the logic: If a person is in prison for a crime, their punishment needs to fit the crime. Now, if a person becomes "Neutered" in prison, and the reason is to save money on welfare outside of prison when their debt to society by then has already been paid, what then does them being "Neutered" actually have to do with them being in prison? Why is it forced in prison as if it is part of the punishment of their sentence? How do you justify the prison having this right to the FUTURE POTENTIAL of these women's bodies? How do they have the right to judge an innocent person who hasn't even had the chance to see the world yet? ...A person whom is more innocent than anyone alive on this earth currently. If it's really about the goverment not wanting to spend money on welfare, how long will it be before they start "Neutering" innercity low income people? And how long before that line is crossed? ...Then, taking it a step further to races of people for often in these life situations.  Really, this scares me.

Neutering humans is the same as saying they aren't worth more than an animal is...  and that their children aren't worth the chance at life. They are then expected to act differently than they have been programmed to be?! Absolutely Ludicrous, i think. I see this as a form of RAPE, because they are being raped of their ability to have children, raped of their humanity, raped of that special ability that God gave women, to set them apart from men. They are permanently mutilated for the rest of their lives and we call it rehabilitation?! Seems to me that they would need rehab from rehab. We can't possibly think that someone can just come back from that without any psychological scars.

Now let me make it clear that I'm not downing our country... I love the USA, but we do have a LOT problems with OUR country that we need to focus on. We have to be careful of the directions we turn in because it is easy to get lost. I believe this needs to STOP RIGHT NOW!!! Before this snowball gets out of control!!!!

Well this is my opinion on this. I would really like to know your opinions on this topic! Please comment below!

My Life: Following My Dreams

I just watched a documentary on Carol Channing... Makes me want to audition for a Broadway musical even MORE!!! Her story ministered to my soul. She showed me it's ok to be quirky... To be weird... Uniquely different. Because it is that difference that will make people remember you. It's that special difference that makes you stand out and may even get you the role! I know that I have to follow my dream! It is a MUST! I have to stop procrastinating, to stop finding excuses to not move to NYC.

I have always been a HORRIBLE speaker... Even just in general conversation. I can't look people in the eyes and talk at the same time. Because I can feel their stare and I can't think. It's like the wire that connects my brain to my mouth has been cut. I have to look away to gather my thoughts and speak my fumbled, clumsy sentences...

But As shy and awkward as I am, I feel like I come alive when I sing and when I'm acting on stage. When I'm given a character to play, and the words to say, I am no longer me. I am no longer that anxious shy person that feels the weight of the world ALL THE TIME. It can feel like I'm getting a chance to experience life through someone else's eyes... And my social phobia goes out the door. I really become that character. The emotions the character experiences, I really feel them.

I know that this type of method acting can come with it's own issues, it can be hard for the actor to disconnect from the character when they are no longer acting... It's like you are intentionally creating multiple personalities and that can't be healthy for anyone. And if it is an emotional role (like domestic violence, rape, death, etc...), and you are allowing yourself to truly experience the emotions of it on a daily basis because of having to practice... the stress that you put on your mind can be tremendous! Just as it would be stressful for someone who is really going through it, because you feel like you ARE. We actors and artist have great EMPATHY. We FEEL and we FEEL everything HARD. Well, many of us anyways. And even that alone can be extremely TIRING! So we find an outlet... Our craft... Our therapy... To release these emotions. Because it isn't healthy for anyone to bottle things up inside.
Over all, I kinda feel like maybe my mind is wired this way for THIS reason? If you know what I mean... Being an actor/artist of any kind has a package that comes along with it. Some of its contents are good and some can be troubling. I always say that being an artist is like being a superhero... With all special gifts there are blessings, responsibilities, and problems. We can't have the good without the bad. But we have to be willing to acknowledge both and work through the problems in healthy ways. It's just interesting how similar of personalities and states of minds we artists have with each other...

Sorry I know I went on a WILD tangent with this... But I guess I just needed to talk about how I was feeling... It feels good to just let it all hang out sometimes!

What do you guys think about this topic? I'd love to hear your opinions!
